What is labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty in Delhi is a reshaping surgery of the female external genitalia that allows the labia minora to be restored to its natural size and appearance.
Nowadays it is no longer a taboo to talk, both among friends and in the media, about the characteristics of the female genital area.
Some women have recognized that the exaggerated length of the labia minora or the marked thinness of the elders is not a condition to suffer but a situation that can be remedied.
In general, women who undergo labiaplasty show a high degree of satisfaction and affirm that they have regained their self-esteem and self-confidence. After the intervention, the patient recovers a more aesthetic, tense, and youthful appearance in her intimate area without having any loss of sensitivity generally.
Why is it done?
This operation of the genital lips corrects morphological or appearance alterations of the area without altering its functionality, by applying different techniques appropriate to each patient and the type of malformation suffered. When the labia minora are excessively large, they present an irregular and abnormal shape. Then a reduction and correction of them is made. On the other hand, labiaplasty also allows to increase and reshape the labia majora through the application of hyaluronic acid infiltrations or fatty tissue fillers.
What does it consist of?
It consists of making an incision in the area, thus eliminating both the mucosa and substances that make up the excess volume and the excess skin. The plastic surgeon in Delhi then closes this incision.
Preparation for labiaplasty in Delhi
Before undergoing labiaplasty, it is important to make a consultation where the patient’s medical history is reviewed. It is recommended not to smoke during the two weeks prior to the intervention.
Post-intervention care
The recovery time after the intervention depends on how the surgical process develops. As it is an outpatient operation, the patient goes home after the intervention and it is not necessary to stay in the hospital. In some special cases, it may be necessary to stay in the hospital for two or three days, to avoid infections and for the tissues to stabilize without suffering any injury.
It is advisable to rest for the next 24 or 48 hours. The inflammation will go down and the stitches will fall off naturally. Returning to work depends on each person, although it is usual to return to work after a week. Specialists advise not to have sex before four or five weeks.
What risks or complications does a Labiaplasty have?
It is a minor surgery, the risks are minimal and common to any minor intervention such as infections, inflammation of the area and heavy postoperative bleeding (usually less than a rule).
As in any surgical intervention, it is necessary to sign an informed consent once the explanations have been understood in clear and simple language.
